The announcements this week
CHRISTMAS is just around the corner. Many families find it difficult to make ends meet. If you would like to help some of our own needy families during this holiday season, you can do so. Please contribute in a separate envelope marked “CHARITY”. All money received will be used to help those in need.
This Holiday season the Sacrament schedule will be:
Reconciliation on
Mon. Dec. 18 between 11 a.m. and noon,
Tues. Dec. 19 between 7 and 8:00 p.m.,
Wed. Dec. 20 between 5 and 6:00 p.m. and finally on
Sat. Dec. 23 between 3 and 4:00 p.m.
The Communal Sacrament of Reconciliation: will be on Friday, December 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
The Mass schedule will be Christmas Eve at
4:30 p.m. and 7:30 for the Children's Mass, as well as
11:30 for the CONCERT and MIDNIGHT MASS.
The on Christmas Day, the masses will be
7:45 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 12 Noon.

Outgoing United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, has called for the violence in the Dufar region of Sudan to end. Details of the story come from Vatican Radio.
The pope's 109 foot tall Christmas tree is finally in position in St. Peter's Square after bad weather and other problems delayed its arrival for more than a week.
According to Vatican statistics, the trees, which over the past 24 years have come from different European countries or regions of Italy, have never surpassed 105 feet, making this year's tree the tallest.
The tree will be decorated and finally lit on Christmas Eve.

As we progress in Advent we continue the tradition of lighting a candle to light the way to the birth of Jesus. Each day at home, the candles are lighted, perhaps before the evening meal— one candle the first week, and then another each succeeding week until December 25th. A short prayer may accompany the lighting.
God, our Father, we remember your promise to send a Savior to us.
As we light this candle, may the blessing of the promised Savior, Jesus Christ come upon us,
brighten our way and guide us by His love and truth.
May Christ our Savior bring life into the darkness of our world, and to us, as we wait for His coming.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
